Jess Ripp: The
Candidate
Jess is a lifelong Wisconsin resident and native of
Milwaukee County where he excelled as a student both
at Marquette University High School as well as at
Marquette University. A champion of community,
ethics, and above all the enduring principles of
hard-working America, Jess rigorously earned the Boy
Scouts of America’s highest attainable rank, Eagle
Scout. While still a college student Jess founded
and operated his own painting company—the successful
small business endeavor instilled in Jess the value
of hard work. To this day the experience has
remained a primary impetus in his strong fiscally
conservative principles.
A fervent advocate of education, Jess studied law at
Creighton University, earned his Juris Doctor, and
passed the Bar Exam. His combined experience in the
small business sector and legal world have led him
to conclude that he is both frightened and upset
with the current direction of incumbent policy
makers whose brash and democratically unprecedented
policies not only hamper the effective viability of
local small business, but also seek to erode
individual civil liberties. Jess understands that
individual liberty fosters the basis for the
small-business model—that it is the ability of
individuals to act unfettered entrepreneurially—not
tax escalations which will stimulate the economy.
